It’s that time of year again, when the weather is bitterly cold and the clouds look like they’re holding freezing rain or bucket loads of snow. It’s essential that during the winter months, you wrap up as much as you can to protect you from the elements, and while you may be adding some extra layers to the mix, that doesn’t mean you can’t look chic and stylish at the same time!
As the winter gets into full swing, it’s inevitable that your wardrobe will change. Say goodbye to the spaghetti strap vest tops, shorts and flip flops and welcome the chunkier, warmer clothing back into your closet. While you’re likely to have a few things put away for this season that are perfectly good to reuse this season, it’s always nice to add some new items to the collection so that you can look and feel great. Here are some essentials for a woman’s winter wardrobe.

Jeans
Jeans will always be a winner, no matter what you wish to team them with. Not only that, but jeans are a great way to keep yourself cosy and warm on a cold day. Add some heels for a smarter look, or some winter boots for a dressed-down outfit, perfect for a trip to the shops or a lunch with friends.

Dresses
A dress or two would be ideal to add to a winter wardrobe, to make you feel feminine even when you’re wrapped up in coats, scarves and gloves. A super cute smock dress, or a knee length George dress would look great with some thick denier tights for an effortless look, while pinafore dresses, in denim or black, would be ideal for something a little more casual.

Tights
As mentioned, tights are an absolute necessity to keep your legs warm when trousers just won’t cut it. There are various styles available nowadays, from plain opaque tights to patterned ones that add a little pizazz to an outfit. Thick denier tights, between 60 and 100, are perfect for any winter look, paired with a pretty skirt or dress and some gorgeous knee length boots.

Cardigans/Knits
Wrap up warm with a cardigan or chunky knit sweater and add an extra layer to your outfit to keep the cold at bay. Opt for a cable-knit zip through - a long length jumper or a knitted cardigan would be ideal. Roll neck jumpers are also a great way to keep any draught away from your neck while also looking stylish.

Footwear
Footwear depends on what your plans are, but a good pair of winter boots can make any outfit complete. Wearable for casual days or smarter occasions, depending on the boots of choice, if you opt for a versatile pair, you won’t have to worry about spending more than you need to.

Just because it’s a bit nippy outside doesn’t mean that you can’t look and feel great. Add a few staple items to your closet and you can be warm, cosy and stylish in no time!

Hope you're having a lovely weekend!
